December: Picking out a Tree
With Zach's work schedule, family events such as selecting a Christmas Tree must be scheduled in advance. We had this specific date on the Calendar for a couple weeks, and of course the night before, we had our first storm of the season. It was a big one, too. Snowed in Roseville, even, though it didn't stick. We decided to go for it anyway, and it was quite an adventure tromping through the snow to find a tree! The girls loved it, of course.

The thing about picking a tree in the snow is, every tree is covered in that beautiful powdery white fluff and therefore look gorgeous. Then you walk up and shake the tree a little and you see that it is actually a pretty ugly tree. We shook off about 20 or so trees, and finally just picked one. So, our tree was less than perfect, but the experience was unforgettable!
